SMART Goals - Parent Invite

S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Achievable
R = Realistic
T = Time-bound

We want to help guide musicians through creating goals with their music.

What would you love to be able to do by the end of the season that you can't do now?

  1. What would you love to do with music in the future?

  2. Picture a place you would love to play music.

  3. What are some songs that you would love to play?

  4. What do you know/not know about music that you think we can teach you?

Practice Ideas

  1. Parent encouragement is vital to their success

  2. Make your instrument and materials obvious and easy to access as soon as you get home. (eg - open the binder to the music as soon as you get home, at your piano/drums, unpack your guitar/uke right away)

  3. Touch your instrument 5 days a week. 3 of those should be more focused — we know that daily is best, but little ones need help developing healthy habits

  4. Test out different times of the day to practice.

  5. Golden practice is right when you get home from lesson

  6. Before you leave for school for (5-10 min)

  7. While the rice is cooking (20 min)

  8. Right after your snack but before your homework

  9. Saturday morning before you watch screens, etc...

  10. It's ok to combine something you "should" do with something you want.

  11. After I practice, then I get a popsicle

  12. While I practice, I wear my favorite shirt

  13. When I practice with Tonara, I get points and stickers and a chance to win a personal visit & treat from an instructor

1st Anniversary Celebration - goody bags

We’re so thrilled to have been at 6120 Business Center Ct. #400 for a full year and we’re celebrating by giving our musicians a goody bag!

We work hard on SMART Goals, which got us this far. Now it’s time to help musicians create their own SMART Goals. Parents are encouraged to join the 2nd half of the lesson to focus in and know how to support.
